Overview

Bringing the entire job workflow into one place.

Traystone is a mobile-first job management product designed for trades and service businesses. It brings enquiries, quotes, scheduling, jobs and invoices into one connected workflow, using AI to reduce repetitive admin and help users move from a new enquiry to a completed, paid job with less manual work.

Problem

Too much admin between the job and getting paid.

Tradespeople often manage enquiries, quotes, schedules, job details and invoices across different tools, messages and paperwork. This creates repetitive admin and makes it easy for information to get lost. The challenge was to create one simple mobile experience that follows the natural job workflow while using AI to reduce the work users have to do manually.

Approach

Design around the job, not the software.

I mapped the complete journey from enquiry to payment and designed the experience around how tradespeople naturally move through a job. Mobile-first flows kept key actions quick and accessible, while AI was introduced at points where it could remove repetitive work, such as turning enquiry details into structured job information and helping generate quotes.

Solution

AI where it removes the most work.

Traystone brings the core job workflow into one mobile-first experience, connecting enquiries, quotes, scheduling, job progress and invoicing. AI supports key moments in that journey by turning unstructured information into useful actions, reducing manual input while keeping the user in control.

I structured Traystone around the way tradespeople already work: enquiry, quote, schedule, complete, invoice and payment. Rather than separating these into disconnected tools, each job moves through one clear workflow, giving users a simple view of what needs attention and what happens next.

The mobile experience was designed around quick interactions while users are away from a desk. I prioritised job details, customer information, status updates and actions that could be completed with minimal input, while keeping the wider web experience available for more detailed management.

Rather than adding AI as a standalone feature, I explored where it could remove repetitive administration from the workflow. AI helps turn job information into useful outputs such as quotes, summaries and customer communications, while keeping the user in control of what is generated and sent.

Key Decisions

Small decisions. A simpler experience.

1

Mobile first, not desktop scaled down

The experience was designed around quick actions on the move, prioritising the information and controls users need while managing jobs away from a desk.

2

AI should reduce input, not add complexity

AI was introduced where it could remove repetitive admin, helping structure enquiries and generate useful outputs without adding another workflow for users to learn.

3

One continuous job lifecycle

Rather than treating quotes, jobs and invoices as separate tools, each stage connects naturally to the next: Enquiry → Quote → Scheduled → Completed → Invoiced → Paid.

Outcome

Less admin. More time on the job.

The final concept creates a connected mobile experience that moves naturally from enquiry through to payment. By combining a simplified job workflow with targeted AI assistance, Traystone demonstrates how automation can reduce repetitive admin without taking control away from the user.

And Beyond

Exploring what AI can remove, not replace.

Traystone became an exploration of how AI could support everyday work without taking control away from the user. The focus extended beyond individual features to identifying where automation genuinely saves time, while keeping important decisions visible and human-led throughout the job lifecycle.
